What file types are supported?

Text-based PDFs work out of the box — the kind exported from Word, Pages, Google Docs, or any modern document tool. Scanned image PDFs are also editable: built-in OCR recognises the text first, then you edit it like any other PDF.

Is it really free? What's the catch?

Editing is free. No signup needed, no per-page fees, no usage caps — every tool (text, shapes, signatures, forms, page ops, OCR) works the same way on the free tier. Exports from the free tier carry a small watermark in the corner. Pro removes the watermark and adds priority support — see the pricing page. Your uploaded file auto-deletes after 2 hours either way.

How are my files handled?

Editing happens in your browser — keystrokes never leave your device. We do upload your file to short-term storage so we can render it back to you, but that copy auto-deletes after 2 hours. No analytics on contents, no account, no email collected.

Are fonts preserved?

Accepted Answer

We extract embedded fonts from your PDF on load and re-embed them when you save. If a font isn't embedded, we fall back to a close match and warn you. Most documents look pixel-identical to the original.

What annotation tools are included?

Highlight, underline, strikethrough, freehand draw, hyperlinks, redaction, image insert, and signatures (typed, drawn, or uploaded) — every annotation tool is on the free tier. Exports from free tier are watermarked; Pro removes it.

Does it work offline?

Editing logic runs in your browser, so once the page loads you can edit without a connection. Saving requires a brief connection to fetch the original bytes. OCR works offline after the language pack downloads on first use.
