Bank statement converter — FAQ
Which banks are supported?+
26 banks across 5 countries: 10 US (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, Capital One, U.S. Bank, PNC, Truist, TD Bank, Charles Schwab), 5 UK (Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds, NatWest, Santander UK), 5 India (HDFC, ICICI, SBI, Axis, Kotak), 3 Canada (RBC, TD Canada Trust, Scotiabank) and 3 Australia (Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Westpac).
Does my file get uploaded?+
Statements with a text layer (most modern bank PDFs) are parsed in memory and discarded right after. Scanned or image-only statements are sent to our OCR provider for table extraction and are auto-deleted within 24 hours. We never keep your statements.
What is the free tier limit?+
Free users see the first 30 parsed rows and can export them as CSV or Excel. The full statement and Tally XML export are paid features. The free tier covers about 3 pages of a typical statement.
Will the output open cleanly in Excel?+
Yes. CSV files are written with a UTF-8 byte-order-mark so Excel on Windows opens them with the right encoding. Excel (.xlsx) downloads include a frozen header row and currency formatting on the amount and balance columns.
Can I import the output into Tally Prime?+
Yes. The Tally XML download uses the standard <TALLYMESSAGE><VOUCHER> envelope that Tally Prime accepts via Gateway of Tally > Import > Vouchers. Credits become Receipt vouchers and debits become Payment vouchers; the counterparty is set to a Suspense ledger so you can remap merchants after import. Tally XML export is paid only.
What if the bank is not on the list?+
Drop the file anyway — the tool tries every parser and picks the best match. If no parser fires, the output table is empty. Tell us which bank and we will add it.
