HOW IT WORKS
1

Drop your Chase PDF

Use the combined statement download from your online banking portal.

2

Confirm detected months

Chase uses "Statement period: MM/DD/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY" on page 1, then the year reappears on each page in the footer. Both formats are detected.

3

Download per-month PDFs

Files named Jan-2024.pdf, Feb-2024.pdf, etc. ZIP or individual downloads.

Chase-specific tips

Where Chase puts the month

Chase Total Checking and Chase Sapphire statements print the statement period on the top right of page 1, plus a short "Page N of M · MM/DD/YYYY – MM/DD/YYYY" footer on every page. The splitter grabs whichever appears first.

Combined statement quirk

If you have Chase checking + savings + credit on one combined statement, all three accounts share the same statement period. The splitter treats the whole month as one group — that's usually what you want for monthly bookkeeping.

Year-end download

Chase lets you download up to 7 years of statements as one PDF. That's the exact use case this tool is built for — drop the 84-month file and out come 84 per-month PDFs.

Chase statement splitter — FAQ

Why does my Chase statement split into the wrong months?+

Most often: Chase's downloaded archive starts the file with a cover summary page that has no date. We forward-fill from the first detected month, so the cover page joins January (or whichever is first). If you don't want it there, manually adjust the first group's month after detection.
