For most edits — text changes, fixes, small layout updates — yes. We use the same kind of PDF parsing the desktop tools use, and we re-embed fonts so the result is faithful. Where desktop tools win is multi-document workflows, scripting, and very heavy redaction features. Those are on our roadmap.
